👑The Origin of Kings
Gratitude for natural phenomena (including plants) that are important to daily life. Offerings (things important to oneself) begin to be made. Families and communities are formed. Gradually, these communities expand, and a representative is chosen. This process is repeated.
🧑🌾As the representative changes from "village chief" to "king."
The king is the figure responsible for expressing gratitude to great natural phenomena and their blessings (later known as gods).
The custom of offerings expands in scale and becomes a "ritual."
✨Ritual
There were times when rain failed, food did not grow, the seas became rough, fish could not be caught, and people suffered from famine. Their lives were in danger. Some villages and countries may have disappeared.
Such serious situations were sometimes perceived as anger. Lightning is a prime example. What could have been done to suppress this seemingly angry phenomenon?
To fulfill greater wishes (prayer) with greater gratitude (offerings), people began to offer more of what was precious and important to them. At that time, wasn't life the greatest value?
🌧️Calling rain
⚡Calming thunder
Sometimes, what appeared to be the anger of a greater being was calmed by chance.
And then,
🎉Expressing joy
🔊Noisy → Reverse → "Dancing"💃
📢Shouting → Reverse → "Singing"🎶
🥁Beat → Reverse → "Music"🎵
This process is repeated and becomes "ritualized."
As it is forgotten, becomes meaningless, its meaning is diluted, and it becomes systematized, losing its essence.
The king is the master of ceremonies.
🧞Eventually, the king becomes a god
The king, who once appeared to be a communication device with the gods, eventually became a being "as great" as a god. As the population grew with the development of agriculture, it became impossible for a "god in human form" to rule. As the country expanded from village to town to city to country, greater power was needed. It probably started with something trivial. Out of trust and respect, small graves were created, offerings placed there, and eventually they became burial mounds and temples. The primordial gods were perfected. Then, knowledge was developed and passed down, and the deification of royalty began.
⚔️War of the Gods
Conflict and division led to repeated expansion and contraction of communities. As communities stabilized and expanded, friction with neighboring communities arose. This was war. At the time, these conflicts likely centered on critical food security.
They were led by deified kings. Over time, these conflicts became narratives, becoming legends of the "war of the gods."
🧠Gods were "created" by humans
To maximize their intelligence and collectivity. It was a survival strategy, a "manifestation" of evolution, and it was "language" that made this possible.
